RIVER KING COMMITTEES
New Committees are being developed in 2025 to support initiatives revitalizing our Club. Becoming a volunteer makes an enormous impact on the Club and the Newfoundland community. Our members and friends have diverse skill sets, which enhances the Club’s ability to change and grow. Volunteering is a great way to meet other members, make new friends, and have fun.

Membership Engagement - Amanda Szymanski, Chair
The Membership Engagement Committee's responsibility is to develop stratgies to attract new members through outreach, marketing and community engagement, and to implement initatives to keep existing members actively involved by providing valuable resources, engaging events, and personalized communication. The Committee aims to foster a sense of community among members by facilitating networking opportunities and promoting member-to-member interaction. An important goal is to initiate a mentor program where experienced members connect with newer members to help guide them with all things related to the club and the Newfoundland breed.
Hospitality - Jenny Harrison
Our Hospitality Committee creates a welcoming atmosphere at River King events by managing food, beverages, and dining decor. We coordinate everything from catering deliveries and volunteer food contributions to table setups for our exhibitors, judges, and guests. Hospitality volunteers are not required to cook or bake unless they offer to do so.
Fundraising - Jennifer Jones
River King is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Fundraising Committee and help drive the initiatives that support our breed and community. We are seeking creative thinkers to brainstorm fresh fundraising ideas, as well as individuals who can help secure donation items—whether through your own professional connections or by using your personal talents to create unique items for our events. Additionally, we need "boots on the ground" to assist with the setup and organization of our raffles and silent auctions. Whether you’re a master organizer or a creative visionary, your contribution will directly impact our club's growth and success.
Rescue - Amy Lee
Social Media/Content/Club Promotions - Liz Pagel
One of the simplest yet most effective ways to support the River King Newfoundland Club is by engaging with our official social media pages. When you like, comment on, and share our posts, you aren't just showing your support—you are actively helping the platform's algorithms show our content to a wider audience. Every share puts our beautiful Newfoundlands and club initiatives in front of potential new members and donors who might not have found us otherwise. By taking just a moment to interact with our digital updates, you help increase the club’s visibility, celebrate our breed, and ensure our events and rescue efforts get the attention they deserve.
